How our service works

How_Our_Service_Works

Mitchelton Meals on Wheels delivers healthy meals to clients’ homes every weekday, by our dedicated and friendly volunteer drivers. For weekends, we can also provide a selection of frozen meals that are fast and easy to prepare.

Every meal consists of three courses plus a snack.  Our most popular selections include Pumpkin Soup, Pea and Ham Soup, Casseroles, Roast Meals, Apple Pie with Custard and Bread and Butter Pudding.  In Summer, our menu includes fresh salads.

Our meals are a very affordable $8 for people who qualify for funding through the Home and Community Care Program, or $11 at full price.

More than just a meal

More_Than_Just_a_Meal

Mitchelton Meals on Wheels has had a place in the hearts and homes of our community for more than 40 years. Helping frail older people and younger people with disabilities and their carers stay in their homes, where most are happiest, is at the heart of everything we do.

As well as nutritional support, our volunteers provide our clients with important social contact, and are able to monitor a client’s wellbeing, health and safety.
